Re: [AI] (Info needed on good sound bars.)

2022-07-04 Thread Shireen Irani
Hello Kota Prabhu,

Before spending on speakers check if you can find the equaliser
settings on your tv and play around with the bass and treble to get
the sound you're looking for. For a clearer sound, your treble should
be higher than the bass. You can keep your bass to about 50 or 40 %,
and then keep increasing your treble till you reach a satisfactory
sound. This should ideally solve your problem.
If not, then speakers would be your best bet.
Again, I'd recommend JBL as I've recently been very happy with their
output. I won't be able to recommend a specific model, but ideally, if
you can, its best to buy these things from an offline store, for
maximum satisfaction.
Otherwise, I'm sure others here can recommend stuff based on your budget.
Shireen.

I am not really satisfied with noise reduction filters. Expensive software

Sounds from distance are not recorded by this microphone.

Anyway, do you suggest any good microphone?

Many recording software have the facility to reduce noise after you have
finished recording.

Adobe audition, cool edit pro etc are some of such apps.

Hello,

I was using Plantronics Audio 400 DSP noise-free microphone for recording audio

audio books with studio quality.

Can you suggest any equivalent alternative?

2022-07-04 Thread john clayton
Hi,
I have personally demoed these bars and they are pretty good.
JBL 9.1, a 5.1.4 soundbar supports both ATMOS and DTX, has rears that can
detach and can run wirelessly, need to be connected to the bar to recharge
though, but they do last a fare while, about 10 hours or so before that's
needed.
A major highlight for this one is the 10 inch sub that is capable of
rocking your world, should you let it. Used to own this one, pretty good.
tad bit expensive though at 99 98k, when I bought it was around 76k, with
80k as it's MRP, you have the government to thank for these prices, though.
Jbl 5.1 is also pretty great if the 9.1 is beyond your price range, has
the same 10 inch sub, the wireless speakers that can be attached or
detached from the bar as you wish same as the 9.1, the only thing is that
it doesn't support DTSX and Dolby Atmos, but is a good 5.1 channel bar none
the less. used to be 50 49k, usually goes for 67k 70k now, again, you know
who to thank for the prices. 
Talking about the prices in 20k to 40k, I have a few more to suggest, that
I have listened to myself.
Sony ht-s40r, decent 5.1 channel bar that has a decent bass, wireless and
pretty decent sound over all for it's asking price, no atmos, dd+ 5.1
though.
Sony HT-S700RF, this one's pretty good with it's tallboy rear speakers, the
drawback is that it's wired, but the sound pretty much makes up for that,
if you can run them cables to the rears from your placement, After the jbl
5.1 9.1, this would be my go to.
For all those who aren't looking for a soundbar, logitech has a pretty dam
good set of 5.1 speakers the 906 that are pretty awesome, again the wires
are an issue, no bluetooth, no hdmi but man, the sound at 23k or so, you
could find these before at 18k or so, these will beat anything under 30k
hands down without sweating it any. would be my first pick if I could only
manage cabling in here. but alas, the woes of when you rent.
Should you have any questions/ looking for something else in a lower
range, do let me know, as I have done a fare bit of my research whilst
purchasing one of my own.
P.S. I haven't had the chance to demo it, but if you can go for it, I'd
suggest giving the Samsung Q950b a try, as I have heard great things about
it, and it is similarly priced to the JBL 9.1, if you are thinking about it
at all, let me know your experiences if any.

Re: [AI] No nice in electric vehicles a great danger for visually impaired

2022-07-04 Thread Vaibhav Saraf
A quick google search suggests that USA and Europe have regulations to make
the EVs and Hybrid cars running below 30 kmph to mandatorily make a sound.
Canada is working on one such regulation. Although none of the countries
have enforced them yet.

Given that EVs can run to crazy speeds now this is very important.

Re: [AI] No nice in electric vehicles a great danger for visually impaired

2022-07-04 Thread Vaibhav Saraf
Very good point.

Tesla has a mechanism which adds noise to the engine when it is running
below 25 kmph or while reversing. It makes noise when on a higher speed
level automatically.

If there is some regulator then it should be taking note of it and imposing
the practice on the auto makers.

Thanks,
Vaibhav

[AI] No nice in electric vehicles a great danger for visually impaired

2022-07-04 Thread Yasir Jan
Dear friends I hope that this email will find you good and healthy
I want to highlight the issue that electric vehicles has have no noise and
they pass from the feets and near the body of visually impaired people
In my opinion the electric vehicles must have some siren so that visually
impaired could hear the siren and may come to know that some vehicle is
going to pass nearby
If someone can raise this concern with the concerned agencies so that the
accident that took place with the visually impaired persons may not happen
in future
I shall be highly grateful and obliged

Adobe audition, cool edit pro etc are some of such apps.
