call on a bluetooth smart watch if your phone and watch are in range
or if your phone and watch are connected on the same wifi and volte is
supported by your phone which as of now is supported on 3 4 year old
4g phone and newer

lte watches are there in both apple and samsung but you should not
expect a lot from them as they have a small screen so there is very
limited things on what you can do.
but yes, if the app is supported by wareos or apples watch os then you
can download and use.

yes. if you dont add an esim to an lte watch its the same as bluetooth.
but if you add the esim you can make and receive calls and sms
directly from your watch no need of taking the phone with you.

However, let me concede that i didn't find my galaxy watch4 LTE model
very useful in day to day life. It doesn't enhance utility of the
phone drastically, it doesn't bring anything new except tracking your
fitness related things. Like, it can count your steps, heart rate,
sleep, snoring and work out.

Re: [AI] advice about an accessible, affordable smart watch

2024-01-08 Thread Mohib Anwar Rafay
Hi Saurav, LTE watches have the capability of activating E-Sim in them
while bluetooth watch will be simply able to connect it to the phone
via bluetooth mode. It mean, if the watch isn't in the range of
paired phone, LTE watch will have incoming calls, outgoing calls, all
sms and its own network to do the things online, while bluetooth watch
will be dependent on the connected phone, if its in the range, it will
notify you regarding the calls etc otherwise it will be simply
disconnected from the world of internet and will be completely
offline. Its better to go for celluler or LTE model if you can stretch
your budget by few thousands more.

Re: [AI] advice about an accessible, affordable smart watch

2024-01-08 Thread Mohib Anwar Rafay
@Sandeep, Galaxy watch won't work with iPhone. Fossile Gen5 and Gen6
watches are not great, they are very poor in terms of battery. Gen6
comes along with 4100 chip on wear OS, but i heard its compatible with
IOS.
My recommendation would be, don't go for Fossile if the intented use
is with iPhone. Look some other watch. If any of the apple watches
fits in her budget, it will be the easiest and most logical
investment.

2024-01-08 Thread Saurav Hegde
Hi,
I have a question, not directly related to accessibility.
What is the difference between LTE and bluetooth watch?
How does it affect the functionality of the watch?

Thanks,

Voice over available in Apple watch. One more thing, Apple Watches are more

because watch will reflect voices from incoming calls but not
voiceover commands on IOS.
Watch itself should have screen reader support like talkback in
samsung watches or voiceover available separately in IOS watches.

Hello all,

If you want to use smart watch with iPhone then go with Apple watch only. If

Re: [AI] advice about an accessible, affordable smart watch

2024-01-04 Thread Mohib Anwar Rafay
The answer is Fossile Gen5, or Galaxy Watch4 44mm bluetooth version.
These are more than 2 year old launch but worth of price in this
range. Apple watches are expensive and its not advisable to go for
older versions to fit in that bracket.
