Re: [AI] require the procedure to avail concession in flights likeair india and private flights

Dear friend,

In almost all the carrier's website, there is an option to request for
special assistance. You may request the same either through their
website or through their toll free numberr. I believe that the DGCA
guidelines mandates all the carriers in India to extent the special
assistance to the persons with special needs. When you reach the
security check point at the entrance, or report at the carrier's
counter to collect the bboarding pass, they will definitely assist
you.

Happy flying...

Best Regards,

Jerin Jose

 Hi
Only AI and JET air offer 50% on base fare on domestic sector.
 Effectively
the reduction is only about 30%
If booked in advance, regular fare on X class etc is much cheaper than
 the
 blind concesson ticket.
 Document required blindness certificate.

Re: [AI] require the procedure to avail concession in flights likeair India and private flights

2016-05-04 Thread Annavaram N.

Hi,

Just to clarify Aravind, the Air Fare Concession available to us has nothing
to do with the facilities/accommodations we are entitled to as air
passengers.
When it comes to the assistance at the airport, we generally get decent
support, though the picture isn't too rosy all the time. The best way is to
walk up to the nearest security gate and inform them of the airlines by
which you are supposed to fly. The security personnel usually pass on the
message to the counter staff of the Airlines concerned, or they themselves
may escort you to the counter. This method always worked pretty well with
me.
THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF CIVIL AVIATION has a set of Guidelines on the
carriage of passengers with reduced mobility, and all the Airlines operating
in India are expected to adhere to them. These guidelines can be downloaded
from here: http://dgca.nic.in/cars/d3m-m1.pdf

Best!

Hi
Only AI and JET air offer 50% on base fare on domestic sector.
Effectively
the reduction is only about 30%
If booked in advance, regular fare on X class etc is much cheaper than
the
blind concesson ticket.
Document required blindness certificate.

Hi,

Just go 30 mins earlier than usual time and tell the security at the
departure gate to assist you. They generally help you without fussing
at all.

2016-05-04 Thread Annavaram N.
Just to add, 50% base fare concession in Air India applies only to the
Executive class. Jet Airways/Jetlite doesn't have any such prescription,
though. As Mr. Harish has already suggested, it's always economical to plan
your trip a bit in advance and have your itinerary booked in Economy class.

Hi
Only AI and JET air offer 50% on base fare on domestic sector. Effectively
the reduction is only about 30%
If booked in advance, regular fare on X class etc is much cheaper than the
blind concesson ticket.
Document required blindness certificate.
Harish.

hi friends,

is there concession for travelling through flights like air india?
in such case, what are the documents to be submited by visually
challenged people for availing that concession?
