Medical Transcription Training for visually impaired
Course Code : MTVI-SET Duration : 6 Months
Sarthak educational trust in collaboration with enable India is
starting second batch of medical transcription training programme for
visually impaired persons. As you are aware, sarthak first batch of
medical transcription has been placed successfully in different
companies.
On successful completion of the training with 98.5% accuracy & minimum
300 lines per day, you will be guaranteed a job doing medical
transcription.
About Sarthak:
Sarthak is a registered Charitable Trust formed in 2008. The trust is
working for visually impaired and other disabled with its main
objectives as counseling, education, training and employment-hence
leading to total rehabilitation.
About Enable India
Enable India is a non-profit organization working tirelessly since its
inception from 1999 towards the economic independence and dignity of
persons with disabilities. EnAble India caters to the needs of all
kinds of disabilities like visually impaired, hearing impaired,
physically disabled, mental retardation, mental illness and more
across India.
Major thrust areas are employment, pre-employment services, and work
place solutions, supplemental education, consulting and enabling other
institutions working for the disabled.
About Medical Transcription training for visually impaired
Medical Transcription is a growing industry which will always be
having a demand all around the world. Medical transcription is a
process of documentation of patient’s history, diagnostic tests,
surgery description, or any other medical documentation. They
accomplish this by listening to the doctor’s dictation which is
received as voice file, and converting into text format. This job
requires learning medical terminology, language of medicine, anatomy
of human body, various diseases, English Grammar, and various accents
like Americanism. This job suits visually impaired who have good
computer skills and who have the willingness to learn.
This is a great field for visually impaired as the work involves in
just listening and typing. This course helps candidates graduate to
start the career as Medical Transcriptionists. The visually impaired
medical transcriptionists have already been working in companies such
as M-Pulse, CBAY, RTech, Digimetrix, Lake Systems and others. This
job will be highly useful for visually impaired. Especially people,
who have difficulty in mobility, can take up home transcription after
gaining experience from a company and reaching a good accuracy level.
Course Details:-

Timings : 9 30 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday

4. Exercises/tests on Medical Transcription, English Grammar,
Medicines, listening skills, aptitude tests.
What you can expect from the course:-
You can expect to get all the training required to become EMPLOYABLE
for this exciting job. If you pass this course, we will be able to
provide interview opportunity at the earliest. If your communication
or technical knowledge is weak, you may need to take up some more
practice just after the training at the premise.
Who are eligible?
Visually impaired with at least Degree or 12 years (PUC) education.
10th pass candidates may be considered on an exception basis.
Selection of candidates will be based on the following criteria:
- Candidates who have good spellings and capable of learning spellings
- Average English grammar skills
- Good computer skills (understands the concepts)
- Good aptitude for learning medical transcription technical concepts
- Aptitude for understanding American accent (listening skills)
- Capability to learn American English & grammar
- Commitment and dedication to learn medical transcription
Fee Structure:
There will be Rs. 1000 fees per month for the course.
HOSTEL FACILITY: hostel facility is available for all the candidates.

Dates: Evaluation (Test & Selection) on 15 , 20 and 26 April 2010 at
Sarthak educational trust
Inauguration will be on 1 may 2010
Course will commence at Sarthak trust from 1 may 2010.
Joining Procedure:
1. Candidates have to call Sarthak trust office and take appointment
for the evaluation test. If they are from out of station, the
evaluation and interview will be conducted via telephone. Local
candidates who pass the evaluation will be asked to come for interview
on 15 April 2010 at Sarthak trust .
