Hello accmail ... Here is a reminder for people who are using accounts on gmail.com (googlemail.com in some countries), or any domain that uses Google Apps for email.
Gmail does not allow you to receive executable files. Here is the (english) text of the Google help page 'Some file types are blocked' http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=6590 "As a security measure to prevent potential viruses, Gmail doesn't allow you to send or receive executable files (such as files ending in .exe) that could contain damaging executable code. Gmail won't accept these types of files even if they are sent in a zipped (.zip, .tar, .tgz, .taz, .z, .gz) format. If this type of message is sent to your Gmail address, it is bounced back to the sender automatically." So you cannot use ACCMAIL methods to retrieve an executable file if your email account is on Gmail or any domain that uses Google Apps. Here at szs.net we have noticed several people with such accounts persistently requesting executable files from www4mail at szs.net -- a pointless and futile extra load on our servers, which have to retrieve the files, split them, send them to a Gmail account, and then handle the bounces -- over and over again. We have decided that in future that sort of activity will be treated as abuse, with immediate effect. ::: szs ::: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To contribute to the discussion, email to accmail@listserv.aol.com To unsubscribe, email to the *admin* address lists...@listserv.aol.com with UNSUBSCRIBE ACCMAIL as the message body.
