I'll just point out here that after upgrading to edgy, I'm no longer experiencing this on the Thinkpad T22s. I did a "sudo update-manager -c -d" and replaced all config files that had been changed. I haven't fiddled with acpi or apic options. -- Power down after shutdown does not work... https://
