Please feel free to 1. reopen it if the system is dead after resume 2. file a bug report at freedesktop if the system is still alive, but with a black screen. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching the assignee of the bug. -- ___ acpi-bugzilla mailing list acpi-bugzilla@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/acpi-bugzilla
[Bug 172251] Display Turns Off Permanently On Suspend - Intel GFX
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=172251 --- Comment #6 from Zhang Rui --- (In reply to Steven Stewart-Gallus from comment #5) > So, I didn't make this clear but this is actually two problems that I > originally thought were one. The first one is with the backlight and the > second one is with the suspend and resume not working. When I suspend and > the system resumes the display is completely off (not just the backlight.) is the system still alive after resuming? if yes, this still sounds like a graphics issue to me. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching the assignee of the bug. -- Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, SlashDot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot ___ acpi-bugzilla mailing list acpi-bugzilla@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/acpi-bugzilla

[Bug 172251] Display Turns Off Permanently On Suspend - Intel GFX
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=172251 --- Comment #3 from Steven Stewart-Gallus --- NVM. This seems to be just a problem with the desktop stack where sometimes it can get into a state where it can't control the brightness. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching the assignee of the bug. -- ___ acpi-bugzilla mailing list acpi-bugzilla@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/acpi-bugzilla
[Bug 172251] Display Turns Off Permanently On Suspend - Intel GFX
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=172251 --- Comment #2 from Steven Stewart-Gallus --- Changing the brightness to zero using the sysfs interface does not turn off the display (you can still very slightly see the GUI on the laptop screen) and the brightness can be set up and down again (using the sysfs interface) (bypassing my desktop stack and using sysf directly seems to screw with the desktop and make it stop working.) Is there a sysfs interface way to actually turn off the screen and not just the backlight? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching the assignee of the bug. -- ___ acpi-bugzilla mailing list acpi-bugzilla@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/acpi-bugzilla
