I just whipped up this _vbscript_ to get you started. Idon't have time to provide a more detailed breakdown as that involves a little extra thought, but this should point you in the right direction... Save, for example, as c:\count.vbs and run, from CMD, like so: cscript c:\count.vbs

We have restored a Domain Controller and on reboot we noticed that the Netlogon, and the SYSVOL folders exists but are not shared. Is this normal, should we share them out ourselves or will it happen automatically? Justin A. Salandra MCSE Windows 2000 2003 Network and Technology

Check the File replication Service event log for more details. This is a non authoritative restore of FRS. So it is trying to sync with a replica to ensure the sysvol content is up to date. I assume you have more than one domain controller in this domain. Once it syncs, it will bring it online.

If you set the servers to want to communicate between sites as bridgehead servers, then it will autogenerate site links that fit this topology. Otherwise all of the domain controllers will want to talk to each other. Being a member of the root domain, it will have everything needed to get

thanks.so if the DR domain controller is only set to replicate to 1 domain controller in HQ -- this should be fine ? should it hold any FSMO roles, be a DC.i would still imagine if the other DC's can't talk to this DC - dcdiag and repadmin would fail or generate errors. On 8/10/06, Kevin Brunson

As long as they have the bridgehead server in their site they wont even try to talk to the other domain controller unless it is a FSMO. So you might want to leave that off of there. I would probably make it a GC though. From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On

Excuse my heavily-accented-French, but .. This is crap. Not just because the voice-rec technology itself is not matured, but also for the fact that its application in the scenario you are envisaging is very impractical. And, you are asking for elevated credentials to boot. What's that?
