Handling spiders is usually OK.

To get them to bite it is best to squeeze them gently against a body part.
Then its a cert. This is the most common way that people are bitten
accidentally when the spider is stuck in clothing or bedding or if it is
picked up accidentally in firewood or garden stuff
Otherwise mimic prey by intruding a body part into the web structure
temptingly. This also works well if the spider has an aggressive
personality and Steatoda nobilis and grossa both typically have. This can
be accidental or just reckless. I have not been bitten and would not risk
it but my wife has had a light  bite from grossa on her finger. Like a bee
