Hi Florian,
I understand you feel the IPv6 addressing architecture of a few ISPs you are
dealing with is so poor that you cannot stand by silently. I'll assume you have
made attempts to meaningfully (and without emotion) exchange ideas with them.
You've now come to this list to paint them
As a community, I think it is important we resurrect this proposal as soon as
possible. Requiring classic multi homing in order to obtain an AS Number is
out of step with current engineering and operational practices.
Can the authors, the chairs, the staff, or any knowledgeable observer please
Excellent news!!! Very well done, everybody. The ability to move IPv4
addresses in and out of RIPE, APNIC, and ARIN, is a critical bootstrap phase as
we transition to dual stack everywhere.

Correct! Which is why I don't think I like the new policy.

Hm, so you want to move to a model that does post-auditing in case of
suspected misbehavior (which would involve revokation in case of abuse has
been detected), instead of doing pre-auditing of each request?
Correct. Automate and remove the hostmasters from making engineering decisions

And I STRONGLY dislike policy discussions and text which penalize 99.9% of the

Hello,
I think it is time to consider the next step for dealing with the problem of a
few individuals opening up dozens of LIRs for the exclusive purpose of selling
the /22s. Such activity is outright fraud, and something the NCC should tackle
with the assistance of the APWG.
Obvious point 1:
Some data from the ARIN region, courtesy of Richard Jimmerson of ARIN:
For the last several years ARIN has been registering AS numbers by issuing the
lowest AS number we have in inventory to approved organizations. We ask those
organizations if they would be willing to accept an AS number
