Hello fellow *SMrs:
I am beginning to implement the archiving feature, as the backupset just
wastes too much tape, as from what I have tested, only 1 node goes to 1
tape. If I am wrong, please tell me
Anyway, we have the need to store files for legal reasons for a large amount
of time - ex: 5
Is this good or bad? What is the intent of NOT backing up these files? What
is Tivoli's recommendation for Windows2000?

Try looking at q filesystem from day to day to identify the culprit, then
look at dsmsched.log or the output from the dsmc command that backed them
up. When this has happened to me in the past it has been due to files with
unique machine-generated names e.g. an app that created 5000 files a day
HI Friends,
Need a very big favour. I did a delete on the tapes, quite a few at one time
before the first one ended. Then the next day I found out my TSM creashed. I
try to bring it up using dsmserv, at the end of the line, there was this
line:

The activity log is a possible reason for this.
Because the activity log is stored in the database, the size of the activity
log must be factored into the amount of space allocated for the database.
The activity log size is dependent on the length of time the activity log

Hi TSM/TDP gurus,
we are installing TDP for SAP R/3 2.7 on a MS cluster.
On one node (NODE1) we run the ORACLE database and on the
other node (NODE2) the SAP application is installed.
Do you have any hints or tips on how to install TDP for SAP R/3 on a

Did you start the server from the server directory?
Is the file in the server directory?

I believe that the change came from Microsoft and
Yes , and still get the same error message. ADSM is installed and
functioning. I have to restore an SAP R/3 database and can't get past this
part.
