We upgraded recently from ADSM 3.1.0 to Tivoli 3.7.0 on 12/10/2000, the operating
system is AIX 3.7.
Our expiration process that is scheduled daily is not expiring as many backup objects
as it was prior to the upgrade.
The library is split to accommodate backup and archives. The 3494 library

If answer is yes, give me a feedback about this environment?

Your old storage pool data will remain as it was: newly stored data will be

Shekhar,
TSM will not do anything with the existing data in these pools.
Collocation will affect the new data only.

Hello everyone,
We have been going back and forth for some time now with IBM/Tivoli
concerning the TSM 3.7.2 client for Netware and NDS Tree backups. We are
running a TSM 3.7.3 server on OS/390 2.9 and here is our issue.
We are attempting to backup the NDS Tree on a Netware 5 server running

Yes TSM fully supports, and will make good use of muti-cpu environments.
I think TSM runs better on AIX, but then I am a bit byast

Good Day,
No prior data stored on the storage pool will be effected. Only data sent
from that point in time onward. In theory, eventualy the old data will
expire off, and the old non-colocated tapes willbe reclaimed.

A "solution" is to have an adequate supply of scratch tapes so the library will be
less likely to remount a bad tape. Also when a bad tape is discovered, remove it from
library and discard or get replacement.

There are always at least 250 scratch tapes available in the library.

Has anyone used the standard backup client to backup SQL databases? I am
curious why when it is set to backup files dynamically, it ignores the *.mdf
