Hello everyone,
My TDS machine which was NT ofcourse crashed !!!. I had to install again but somehow
when I installed TSM TDS Loader and run it, I get run-time error 7 out of memory.
I searched the web looks like some ocx should be deleted or renamed. Does anyone has
faced the same problem?
All,
Over the weekend I have seen that if an NFS filesystem is not working
properly then incremental backups will not work.
This happened on 3 AIX 4.3.3 servers which lost some of their NFS mounts,
i.e. df command was hanging on them. If I tried to do incrementals but they
just sat there doing

Does that mean that will not fix the 5.1.1 also?

Hi TSMers
I need some serious help here as this one has me totally confused.
I have a Windows 2000 TSM server (4.2.2.5), 3583 with SDG, 2109 Switch and FasTt500.
SAN agents are all correctly loaded etc.
Heres the problem:
When one SAN client is backing up to the server a tape is mounted in
Have you tired re-validating the policyset then reactivating it? I have
found that after some management class or copy group changes you should
re-validate and reactive the policy set to which they reside, then restart
the TSM client daemon on your client system(s).

As of: 06/30/2002 TSM server: 4.1 is no longer supported by IBM/TIVOLI
it's only 4.2 and 5 right now.
--Justin Richard Bleistein
With files that far back, I would use the default that comes with 4.2
and put any mods you had in clients file manually. I think
there were a command/statement or two that are no longer used
and could cause a problem. Also some new/changed stuff.
Don't know all the details of 2.6.

Examine the actlog for the period when this happens.
You will probably find the answer or at least a clue.

Hallo,
I don't think, it's expected but true. We have the same situation on HP-UX
clients 4.2.1 and TSM server 4.2.2.4 on Solaris. The only way to resolve
this, is to reboot the client to clean up the nfs problem.
I think, it's a failure in the nfs code.

Hi all,
My problem began when I changed the passwords of Three of my

schedules are MISSED, and when I want to do an incremental

Hi:
I have a volume in an odd state:
VOLUME_NAME STGPOOL_NAMEACCESS PCT_UTILIZEDPCT_RECLAIM

As one of the offsite being returned it will not return to the scratch

If I do a move data, the message returns

Audit the volume once it's back in your library.

Run an audit volume command with fix=yes. That should take care of it.

Are the SAN ones 4.2.2.5 also?
I remember having this problem, but the Windows guy is not here for 2 weeks.
I think the problem had to do with turning on certain communications methods
in the client and the documentation not being clear in the SAN install.
After turning off the communication
Try an audit vol 000324 fix=yes and then delete vol 000324 discard=yes
if it does not go to scratch on its own.
Hope that helps

Yo,
Trying to install a 4.2 client (tried 4.2.0_11 and 4.2.1_20) on a Win2K

I've searched the archives and verified that long file name support is

Thanks,

You have to go to each node and do a dsmc command. The system will prompt
you for the password - once you enter the new one it should be ok for the
backup again.

Sounds like you are using passwordaccess=generate; prove this by running
dsmc -pa=newpw
where newpw is the new password you set from the server.
To correct this, locate the password file (depends on client level) and
erase it; then run dsmc with no arguments to set the password file using

Mike,
The tail is wagging the dog here.
They can specify what they want backed up and when, and you deliver it in whatever
manner you see fit. They should have no say in how.

Hello Rachida,
Are you logged in as root on the client? If not, please do so and
run a dsmc q fi. This should prompt you to enter the password
and the TSM client will encrypt again the new password.

As root, run the dsmc command on the client systems. Do a 'query schedule'
and you will be prompted to enter the password for the system. This should
correct the problem.

Two ways to handle this.
The Archive should work.
The second way is to create another node to house only your selective
backups. This requires another stanza in your dsm.sys and dsm.opt. Then
use the -se and -optfile options as applicable to make that same client look
like another client from
I think that you'd better check if SP2 installed on your win2k.
If not, please patch at once. I think it may help.
