Are you sure it skips /var ? Could it be that /var is just a subdirectory under the filesystem / ? (and you don't see ~...processing file system /var...~ ? ) I'd also double check the include/exclude list specified in the dsm.sys file for the tsm server being used. I'd also check the restart data

We just went through the same process and changed all our Disk Volumes to Mod 9's. The only difference is an increase in response time during the daily migration process only. It was never noticeable it but it does show up on a report. Most of the process during that increase time was data

We purchased a NetAppliance filer and consolidated all of our File servers to it. The filer has a snapshot utility that makes restores a lot faster and easier. I believe part of the problem with restoring to NT is that the OS cannot create the files fast enough to keep up with TSM. -Original
