The typical cause is the tapes were not labeled. You checked them in, but
you should have done a LABEL LIBVOLUME .. CHECKIN=Scratch. Just check
them back out and do the LABEL command.
This is the normal action TSM takes to get a bad tape marked for no reuse
when it is not labeled.

Hi,
if my understanding of TSM is correct then there is no Microsoft API for
DHCP. So TSM can't backup the DHCP database because it's always in use.
In the W2K DHCP Configuration you can define an interval when DHCP will
write a flat file copy of its database.
This file can be archived, restored

Hi
Yes, you can do this with ACSLS. The L180 doesnt have it's own library
manager. This is why ACSLS is required to share the library. If your going
to dedicate 2 drives to each server, then ACSLS is all you need. If you
want to share the drives dynamically, you also need to install Gresham

I need to move a couple of nodes from one offsite copy pool to another
offsite copy pool. I tried using the move nodedata command but It gives me
the following error:
ANR1719E Storage pool C1_FS_DRMP specified on the MOVE NODEDATA command is
not a
valid pool name or pool type.
ANS8001I Return
Or, you can simply do a new backup stgpool, to your new copy storagepool.

Ok I have a serious problem. My log is full and I'm at the maximum as far as
size goes. When the server starts I get a ANR7837S Internal Error LOGSEG871
detected. Does anyone know how to get around this. The tsm server is running
but unacessable via the command interface...

Hi
If I'm not wrong, I think I remember seeing an APAR for that error
message. Check the Tivoli support site. I think they have a solution for
that problem.

Remember that each version of every file you keep take something like 600
bytes in your database.
You are effectively saying you have up to 1830 versions of every file (5
years times 366 days per year).
Times say 5000 files per system, and 600 bytes per version, is about 5.2 gig
of database space

Sorry to come back with that topic, but I'm seriously frustrated not finding the

Hi Geoff,
I noticed that v5.1.6.1 was made available late on Friday and I, too,
put it on test servers this weekend. So far, so good. I plan to go

In debugging the v5.1.6.0 problem, I was asked to enable a server
trace. This bogged down the server but at least avoided all of the

I have a Novell server that the file ownership rights/ attributes have
been lost, however the files are still in place.
Is there a way to just restore the files attribute without restoring the
file or the directories?
Hi Jose
I did some analysis on this for monthly backups and discovered that a monthly archive
and a monthly incremental worked out about the same in our environment but that the
monthly archive was easier to implement. Our requirement was just a point-in-time

Try do a normal restore ... in the restore command specify '-volinfo
-replace=no' as part of you parameters and you should be fine. The
rights should be restored but the file not replaced if it exists.

...I have just answered my own question. If you ever permit a disk

corresponding tape storage pool as you have tape drives. These will
