Actually, that page is slightly misleading. Because StorageTek can equip their libraries with any vendor LTO drives you may need different driver and the site specifies only one of them. For STK with IBM LTO drives, OS native IBM driver should be used. For STK with HP or Seagate drives, TSM driver

According to the training manuals for TSM 4.X and 5.X, you should not have more than 12 DB volumes. Yet we have 16, and at one point we had 32 and saw no performance degradation. There seems to be no end to the debate on this issue. We are on AIX 4.3.3 and have been with this config from 4.2.X
