Is this a Windows or AIX TSM server? If it is windows has the server been rebooted and remapped the drives. If it is AIX have you checked the drive status in smitty to see if the server can communicate with them. you can use either NTUTIL in Windows or TAPEUTIL in AIX to test communicating with

After many months of successful backup suddenly backup fails on one of the Domain Controllers with an error ANS1301E Server detected system error. Nothing in the Log files indicate the reason. This particular Server has a C: D: E: drive. I have manually tried to backup and I get the same error.

At our site, we run our TSM servers with a 7 day activity log retention. However, we run our TSM servers on AIX and when we start them up we use the nohup command ( nohup dsmserv /dev/null ). This redirects the activity log out to a nohup.out file. The downside to doing it
