I wanted and tried to move a nodes data to a different storagepool,
non-collocated to collocated.
From dlt-standard with copypool to dlt-monthly with copypool-monthly.
(move nodedata xxx from=dlt-standard to=dlt-monthly)
Move within primarypools went ok and I thought that admin schedules

Take a look at the IBM knowledge base for IBM TSM for Mail.

Hi TSMers
Here's a quick question for you. I have some tape volumes in our 3494 tape

the volumes just in case.
Now, the problem is that I no longer

Hiya Henrik,
I have recently been doing pretty much what you are trying to achieve. The
problem you have is the biggest issue with the move nodedata command. From
reading across the many articles on here, it appears that the only way to
get rid of the old copypool data is to delete the volumes

After restoring a Domino mail database, we were able to open the person's
mailbox even though the use had a password on the file. Is this because we
opened the file from the Domino server and the server id is all powerful?

Some days you are the bug, some days you are the windshield. -
Hi Len:
The problem showed up after the migration with the library where we
have our copypools. It reported no tapes to mount. After doing a few
useless things, I called TSM support. The issue was fowarded to level 2
and they requested a trace.
They came back within a day with the cause.
It only
alright they changed the ibm ftp site again!!!. So my hardcoded ftp script
which goes out once a week to check for tsm updates failed once again. Now
if I go under the AIX directory it shows aix32bit, and 64bit. They're use
to be sub-folders for the tsm client under aix according to my hard coded
Hi TSMers
Ok, I have been asking questions about this recently and am trying to work
out what the best order of actions would be. Firstly, the TSM set-up is as
follows :-

one IBM 3494 library containing two 3590B1A tape

Hi Bill!
I have! Well... sort of... I tried configuring it some time ago. After a day
or two I gave up. This is some complex piece of software! I call this
implementation software piling. You have to install several components (the
rather expensive Oracle client is one of them) on the client and

(I can't seem to find that in the readme's / references (or I am looking in

We are planning for a server upgrade (windows) from level 4.2.2.6,
I believe you also need a 4.2 Server.

Yes, this is correct SQL behavior.
If you examine the COLUMNS table for this column, you will see that the

Andy,
Thanks for the explanation. I was totally unaware
of this behaviour and I assumed that it was sufficient
to test for the string.
Thanks again.

I would say it is not correct statement. TDS is product for creating OLAP
reports over management information collected by diverse Tivoli management
products while TSM Operational Reporting is for only for TSM daily
operational reports (Oh, how I hate to repeat the same words twice). TDS

-- Has anyone tried eliminating the old copypool data by tweaking the

Andy, you are suggesting something useless but VERY VERY dangerous!
Tweaking copygroup parameters will force expiration of *primary* pool
copies and only as a consequence
So for me from all I've read it sounds that the choice is between:
a) upgrade to 3590H and be forced to upgrade to v5.1.6 at once with all
bridges burned behind
b) upgrade quickly (but not at the speed of the light) to v5.1.6 and have
a step back available
In best case scenario both ways ought to
If this was not possible on the original database, it ought to be
considered a bug, proved as re-createable and reported through support to
an APAR (if one is not already opened).
If the behavior seen was there before the backup (if you can check it), it
ought to be normal. Check in Notes:

I have tried, but I can't figure out how to get more than one

One process per storage pool is the limit for TSM.
But you can accomplish the same thing yourself by cranking up MOVE DATA
vv RECONSTRUCT=YES.

Hi List ...
Has this ever happened to you?
I have only two tape drives, so they pretty much run non-stop.
But when someone goes in to do a restore, whatever is running gets
preempted and the restore gets completed as a priority.
But sometimes.for some reason..TSM does not preempt
