Rick got it right. In our library, after the database backup is made and
back in its slot, we issue:
move drmedia * wherest=mountable tost=courier rem=bulk
That pulls the database tape and copypool tapes that are in the library,
checks the volume name on each volume and puts it in our
hmm thats of very much help to me .. 3 day reuse delay is used because currently i
don't have much tapes to fully cater with the DRM of my choice.

I've had the same problem on occasion.
What I found is that it isn't even necessary to bring the funky tape back
from offsite.
If the Q CONTENT shows nothing on the tape, you can update the status to
READONLY (instead of offsite), and run the AUDIT VOLUME with fix=YES without

You can backup the TSM DB to devclass of type file.

We recently started testing a 2.4 TB MS SQL database for backup and

You sound like you are usd to an old-style product like arcserve or backup-exec.
TSM tapes don't work that way.
TSM backs up far less data that traditional backup products, and its tapes don't come

Currently I have just 6 tapes (200GB each). I am going to configure TDP for Oracle

The dsmserv.opt isn't changed and looks okay.
But connecting via browsers still doesn't succeed.

Sandra,
You really should backup your TSM database every (working) day. If you have another
sort of tape drive attached you can use that. You can also use a file device class
and burn the files to CD.
Your number of tapes is far too small. You will learn this the hard way.

Steve.
