Hi all
Regarding the reply below (thanks to Jop), I have managed to create new db
volumes and get them all synched up, so that's good. However, the log
volume that got lost was Copy 1 (see below), so what do I do now? Do I try
and make a copy of the remaining good copy (Copy 2), or do I use
Hi Farren,
as copy 1 is still off-line you can handle the LOG the same as the DB.
It works fine, no problem.
After creating the space on OS and doing the logcopy it fills the new volume
from the one that's still online.
Good luck.

Hi,
We perform weekly image backups and daily incrementals of a large

As far as I know, there are two ways to do a command-line backup in netware...

Hi TSM'ers,
currently we're backing up mail which is stored in mbox-format, i.e.
any tiny change to a folder results in a complete backup of the resp.
folder. This is currently tolerable with my site, but we consider using
the maildir format, where every message is stored in an individual file.

There is no command to do that.
There is a way to do it, if you are willing/able to export and re-import
the filespace:
Assume you want the filespace from node SOURCE to be reassociated with
node TARGET.
1) Export the filespace.
2) Rename node SOURCE TEMP.
3) Rename node TARGET SOURCE
4) Import
TSM will back up the mount point (junction) and its attributes, but will
not traverse into it. It will, however, treat the mounted volume as a
separate file space and back it up.
For example, suppose E: is mounted under C:\somedir\mp.
When TSM backs up C:, it will back up C:\somedir, any files
If you want a query, you can just use a query (my resident DBA gets
credit for constructing this one):

where o.stgpool_name = q.stgpool_name and q.pooltype in(

There's no such query that I can think of, since the CONTENTS table does
not include the object ID of the files in that table, so you can't tie
anything directly to the BACKUPS table.
However, another possible approach: Assuming you know the file name you
are looking for (and it sounds like you

With a 'q content tape f=d you get the file name and the size.
This is tedious, but assuming that you are only looking for the date of
a certain file or just a few files, you should be able to go to the client that
backed it up and do a q backup

I think you meant to select from the BACKUPS table... the CONTENTS table
doesn't have BACKUP_DATE, HL_NAME, or LL_NAME columns. But even then, if
there are multiple versions, you can't easily distinguish which one is on
a given volume.

But those flat files will be backed up by the normal incremental, and
