Have you explored other communication options besides the traditional telco T1/T3? In particular, DSL and cable modem internet connections. If one of those modes are available to you, you can tunnel over a VPN to your other site. That would be cheaper and faster than a T1. -Ken -Original

This is actually APAR IC47950. I just looked and it's still listed as open. The tape is deleted in the library client (STGDELETE) and the volhistory entry in the library manager is removed, ownership changes to the library manager, but it doesn't get put back as scratch. I do something similar

I do not understand the hard to manage argument, I use scripts to do all of that sort of work. It is nice to be able to fine tune the disk pool sizes. We have started resizing the pool volumes to reduce the threads TSM uses, but it will take more than a week to complete. It will take 2 days to
