Hi,
Please respond below query.
We executes backup through Tivoli Storage Manager V5.3 (Windows based). We
are planning to re-join existing TSM server to a new domain. We would like
to know:
What impact will it have if the existing TSM server rejoins another domain
(in separate forest)
Will it

Hi,
TSM does not really care about Windows domains.
(Dont change your DNS- or IP-address on your TSM server, if you change,
remember to change TcpServerAddress in dsm.opt on the clients)

Odd, how can it be that select * from events returns different to select
* from events where scheduled_start'1900-01-01' How is the table
'special'?

I have a Windows host that was moved between domains.
It is still trying to backup a directory into an old management class.
There is no statement in the option file or in any global option set.
The problem is the files in the directory are going to the new default
management class- 37 days and
Nope, see the explanation in 'Why does it Work that Way (Andy
Raibeck).pdf' from TSM Symposoium in Oxford 2005.
Events table is calculated at runtime... etc
Cheers

Hi Everyone,
I am having major issues trying to backup my NAS filesystems. I seem to
be getting a lot of the messages below. I am trying to use NDMP backups
with my EMC NS704G. I am still trying to find what this exact issue is,
but was wondering if anyone has ever seen this before? Any help
Ahh, I see. I knew that TSM tables were built 'on the fly'; but had't
realised that the events table is essentially unbounded, hence the need
for the 'special' behaviour.
Thanks,
Matt.

Hello,
TSM 5.1.6.2 running on AIX 5.1 ML04
I have 3 LTO2 volumes, which belong to a copypool and they currently are in
vault state. Pct Util on 2 of the volumes is 0 and 1 of them is 0.1. When I
query contents on any of these 3 volumes I don't get anything on them.
I would like to use these
I'm not sure if you can do this with a select. One thing you could try
would be an export node, with filedata=ALLActive and preview=yes.
Matt.

TDP for Oracle backup does not show up when query backup is run. The
backup is successful and the files can be seen when query occupancy is
run. What command can we use from the client to see what files are
backed up?
Try auditing the volumes. If they are offsite, you will have to make them
readonly or readwrite. We have had volumes like these before - it doesn't
even mount the tape, it just fixes something in the database.

The dirmc option is specified in the options file, but query backup

Hello all,
within our first TSM 5.3 server is running on level 5.3.3.4 under AIX.
ISC is at level 6.0.1 and AC is 5.3.3.0 on Windows.
Whenever there's a need to modify the volume history (STGNEW, STGDEL,
TSM server database backup) I'm receiving the TSM server warning
message.

When using ALL-LOCAL in the domain statement of a client option set it

When I issue dsmc q opt from the client the domain states ALL-LOCAL

The system is AIX. The local dsm.opt file contains DOMAIN / to back

Referring to topic Using options with commands in the client
manual, what value did you use for the Force operand of DEFine
CLIENTOpt?
My error... Cancel that - additive options are not affected by the
Force parameter.

Maybe this is a silly question, but have you placed the tape
in the I/O slot correctly? With the barcode facing in?

Make sure that the barcode on new tape in IO slot is read correctly. May
perform confirmation via tape console.

Check whethe the IO slot is confiureeged coreectly, as the error message says,
it cant move the tape from 4112 to 257, the IO and library is not able to see
the 4112 slot correctly.
11/08/2006 13:28:10 ANR8942E Could not move volume 818ACFL2 from
slot-element 4112 to slot-element 257.
Taking a different approach and avoiding the IO slot I have put 5 new
tapes into the left cartridge.
I then ran the command:
label libvol lb1.1.0.3 search=bulk labels=barcode checkin=scratch
The same error appeared in the activity log:

Hi Srinath,
Try
chfs -a size=+size increased byG filesystem mount point
So something like
chfs -a size=+50G /apps/tsm
Will increase the /apps/tsm filesystem by 50Gb (if there is enough space in
the Volume Group.)

Stephen.

the FS. You may also be running Soltice which is basically VXFS under
