Hi list,
When attempting to backup a folder in a mapped drive I get

I checked the archives, and previous postings suggest that I check my user
policies. My domain user (the one I'm attempting the backup with) is in the

Hi,
did you try TDPO 5.3.3 with TSM Server 5.2.9?
Thanks.
This is my dreaded interview question...please explain the
current TSM pricing model. Even if I was lucky enough to pick the
correct current model, I would be hard pushed to explain it in rational
terms and it appears IBM salesman don't fair much better.
All I would say is that, I've

How do I stop dsmadmc reformatting output when doing selects on the

For example:-
If I try...

Have you tried its -DISPLaymode option?
All the options are documented in the Administrator's Reference manual.

Adrian,
Try to add displaymode=list to your dsmadmc command ... Should do the
trick !
You can also take advantage of -datao=yes, to remove TSM specific
headers ...

I opened a case with IBM about this problem. Their reply was to
perform the first action listed below, and if that didn't work, do the
second.
1) Delete (rmdev) and rerecreate (cfgmgr) the SMC devices for the library
robot. Then try to add the paths.
2) Deconstruct the ENTIRE library
I'm not a mac person, just the ex tsm admin. If anyone can help with
the below problem, I'd sure appreciate it.
We have a mac system on which the new client was installed earlier this

Hello All,
I received an unusual message in my TSM report today, that told me there
is one volume unavailable.
How could this condition occur, how can I locate the unavailable volume,
and in general what is the remedy.
Thanks,
Kerry

To get the volume name. Then you should query the actlog to find out what
happened to make TSM put the volume as unavailable.
Usually because it couldn't be mounted. Could be that the tape isn't really in
the library, or is in the library but couldn't be

I can answer that -- it was the cycling of TSM. We added 6 drives to our
3584 last year and I ran into the same issue. I could define the drives
but I got an error in defining the paths. As near as I can guess, TSM
gets the library configuration at startup -- number of slots and number
of drives
Anker,
I too am very afraid of HSM and always approach any HSM-related upgrade
( even an OS patch ) with a mixture of fear and loathing :)
By way of background: We moved our HSM data ( c 20 filesystems ) across
physical hosts _and_ from 5.2.x client level to 5.3.0.
We also kept the same client

This is what I got from my vendor on the subject. Also, your current
licenses will be converted to units. Similar to what happened when TSM
went from its old model of licensing to the processor based licenses.
The one thing I find interesting is that they go by 100s of units which
