Hi all again
I am still (I think) having issues with this, although due to another issue
which is nothing to do with me, I can't even get onto the servers in question
to do more digging.
I have a question though regarding the schedulers.
In this case we have a cluster called CHI-MB with two
Hi Farren
Both of servers in the cluster will have a utility called Cluster
administrator, you must use this to start and stop the TSM scheduler services
for the backups on the clustered drives, if you stop them via computer manager
(services.msc) then you could cause the cluster to fail to
Thanks Phil, I have now located Cluster Manager :-)
One more question, I assume the state of the scheduler on either of the actual
cluster nodes should be set to manual?
Thanks

Hello,
I want to restore more than 100 DB's to a another server.
And I don't want to define all the new DATA and LOG files, before
restoring.
I have found this command: tdpsqlc res ApplinX full
/Fromsqlserver=cdkalb008 /to=F:\MSSQL$DEMO3\Data\ /relocate /create
I get this error msg.:
Bo,
Take a look at this:

If you are using Data Protection for SQL 5.5, you should also look at the
new RELOCATEDIR option:

Is there a practical way to verify that all contents of storage pools have been
backed up?
It looks as if it would be unwise to try checking each individual file,
however, I need this to show management that we are taking dr seriously.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

I use this script. This will gove you the total size of each storage
pool.
select stgpool_name as Storage Pool,sum(num_files) as Number of
Files, sum(logical_mb)/1024 as Total PhysicalGBs from occupancy group
by stgpool_name

Isn't backup primarypool copypool preview=yes a good way to verify? (And
repeat for all pools) If you get back a message that states there is nothing to
backup, you know you're covered.

There is a select command somewhere on here that tells you the number of
files that are out of sync:

But I can't find it at the moment.
Also, you can just run
backup stg copy1 copy2 preview=yes wait=yes
and if it gives you a There is no data to backup for
Are you using the RMAN interface for your SAP backups? We are using it
here and I'm curious to see how others have things configured when using
RMAN.

Please respond to ADSM:
Any more thoughts on using TSM through a SVC? I am about to configure such a
system and have reservations about putting TSM disk storage pools on SVC LUNs.
