hello, just to clear the fact. If my current tsm server version is 5.5.x and i have an old tsm db backup tape which was made with an version 5.4 or older, it is not possible to restore this old tsm backup to the 5.5 code? am i right? with best regards stefan savoric

Hi, From GA32-0448-08: FC 9106 must be specified if the 3494 Tape Library or VTS is to be attached to a pSeries AIX attachment. - what is the procedure to add above feature code to a 3494? Is it a code or something like that? - If FC 9106 is not present, should I expect to see a 3592 tape drive

thank you richard you are right. i tried it now with a 5.3.1.1 backup (os was w2k server), recovered to a tsm 5.5.4.1 server on windows 2003. After recovery, i had to start dsmserv upgradedb. with best regards stefan savoric

Hi Robert, Microsoft had original intentions to add striping into Exchange legacy-style backups, but opted against it, most likely to focus their efforts on VSS backups. DP/Exchange has nothing built in to break apart the storage group list and create multiple streams. The only way to do this is

This is not a feature of TSM. The official TSM recovery solution is the restore-from-db exercise. There are third-party replication products that are able to synchronously or asynchronously replicate the disk data (and has nothing to do with TSM) Just point those products at the db/log/server
