Hi Thomas!
From the TSMManager website:
After starting the program you will have 30 days in which to evaluate
the program, after that time it will only work if supplied with a
license file that is purchased from us.
So, when there is no license (or the license has expired) you have one
month to
I appreciate whatever you might come up with, David. If nothing else, you've
given me some ammunition for convincing colleagues we have to do this
differently.

Our Celerra shares a drive and seems to play nicely with others. The Celerra
is not defined to our 3494 so it cannot change tapes on its own.

Does anyone know what the maximum is for multiple instances on the same
physical server?
We have 5 TSM (6.1.2.3.2) instances running on one p560 (AIX 6.1.2.0)
one of which is our library manager.
Thank you, Bob Molerio
Where did you find TS3500WebInterfaceCLI which is apparently needed by
this interface?

Curious as I was, I just tried it and it shows the clean remaining:
*java -jar TS3500CLI.jar -a lib1 --viewCleaningCartridges*

It all depends on your resources, mainly memory and I/O. Beefier servers
can handle more. One thing to check though, I did read somewhere (maybe
here) that IBM recommends to NOT run multiple TSM 6x instances within the
same machine (or LPAR since you have a pSeries)
You might want to verify

Now I'm doubting myself.
The manual shows you how to do it, so I guess that's good enough.
Disregard my previous comment.
I could have sworn i read about this on the official IBM TSM rss feed.
There was some random problem and under the solution field, there was a
statement like multiple TSM

For Windows users, there was also something about the TSM Management Console
MMC snap-in not supporting more than 4 instances of TSM Server at once. This
wouldn't stop you from *running* more than 4 instances, but you wouldn't be
able to manage more than four from the Management Console
Hi Nick,
I did have a look for my old notes earlier today but I'm afraid I'm drawing
a blank (they'd be from over 5 years ago...).
In summary (from what I remember) the customer had a TSM Server library
manager instance for a Quantum P7000 running 16 or so LTO2 drives. The

Hello Everybody,
During initial TSM Server installation (more than 10 years ago) I have set
server URL.
TSM Server was upgraded many times and moved from SP/2 to Power4 platform.
I have found old URL in current TSM Server configuration:
Server host name or IP address: 172.27.9.25

It is different tapes and different drives.
I am starting to think it could be the HBA FC card in the physical blade that
connets to the backplane of the Blade Chassis.
The tapes are ok, and it will happen on a new tape as well. All drive tests
come out as ok with now errors.

Adrian
Thanks Steve.
I am going to try that as a start to resolving the problem. Even IBM
engineers seem to be adamant about it
