Snapdiff with 6.2.2.0 client

When we started using snapdiff backups, the documentation said it was compatible with any release of OnTap above 7.2. We committed to using snapdiff with our OnTap 7.3.3 FAS, and by using the arcane options TESTFLAG SNAPDIFFONTAPFAP and TESTFLAG SNAPDIFFNAMEFILTEROFF, it mostly worked. We

Thanks for trying, but I found that too (and tried it, and couldn't make it work). I was hoping someone from the beta-test group would have unpublished information. - Margaret -Original Message- From: ADSM: Dist Stor Manager [mailto:ads...@vm.marist.edu] On Behalf Of Cameron Hanover

That sounds more like a case of you don't have something in the dsm.opt correct, like the tcpserveraddress or maybe the routing at the system level. -Original Message- From: ADSM: Dist Stor Manager [mailto:ads...@vm.marist.edu] On Behalf Of Christian Svensson Sent: Tuesday, December 14,

The only thing that has worked for us in these types of cases is to run a selective backup rather than an incremental. This way TSM just backs up every file rather than going through the examination process. This may or may not help you as I don't know the specifics of your systems. JoeA Joseph

You can update the path for the drive to bring it online. One of the parameters to the update path command is online=YES. I guess I would be curious as to why the path is offline. Did you have an error with the drive, did something happen with your fabric, or did someone take the path

As other have indicated, journal based backups are a good thing to think about. You could also look into increasing the resourceutilisation and maxnummp. To make those work you may need to split up the filesystem (using virtualmountpoint). Last, if jbb is not an option, look into incremental by
