Is there a way to search for a file on a client? I have a server that has had complete backups for a long time. Recently, when trying to do a restore, I can find a particular directory in which the user insists existed just a few weeks ago. Yes, I selected inactive files in the GUI.

I have setup LAN-free backup, but sometimes the storage agent causes reservation conflict. The only way to remove this conflict is the following command on storage agent: # chdev -l rmt0 -a reserve_type=persistent and then # chdev -l rmt0 -a reserve_type=reserve_6 Here a library manger controls

If your client runs your nightly incremental backup in a reasonable time, you don't need the journal service. Journal is for Windows clients that have so many files you can't complete your backup in a reasonable time. In my experience, this usually means 10,000,000 files or more.
