Tried to run a restore of Node2 from Node1 with the –virtualnodename option .
From client Node1 I run the command:dsmj –virtualnodename=Node2 Got this
error message: ANS50035 The management class assigned does not exist.
I comment on Node1 in the dsm.sys the line with the
Since you are logging in as NODE2 to perform operations with that node, it
is expected that the configuration will be valid for NODE2. Thus if the
management class does not exist, you should (temporarily) comment it out.

I would recommend one additional refinement. After updating the
device class, list filling volumes on the E drive and change those
volumes to read-only. This will prevent TSM from using the filling
volumes as output volumes for 'move data' processes.

To optimize your migration (minimize time and data movement), you can
take the list of those E: volumes and use some scripting or Excel
wizardry to get a count of how many carts there are per
date-last-written. Chart that
