Does the datamover's ability to run multiple threads in VE 6.4 mitigate the
need for multiple data-movers per ESX? Is it now reasonable to have a single
data-mover per ESX?

Prather,
Well, I'm sure the answer is it depends, because it's all about the amount of
data you have to move; but I I think most people will want a minimum number of
data mover instances per data mover machine (real or virtual).
The data mover is just an instance of a TSM scheduler service running dsmc.
Hi,
I get the following error code from one of my SQL-servers during backup:
ACO5422E Received the following from the MS SQL server:
CSqlApi::GetSqlDatabaseInfoOpt3:6484:1914 FileGroups-Count:0
It then does backup all the databases on the server, seemingly ok.
At the end I get:
ACO0151E Errors
Library manager server tsm 6.2.2 running on rhel 6.1 x86
Client was 6.2.2 on rhel 6.1 x86.
All tested fine. Restored files from tape, all went well.
Upgraded client to tsm server 6.2.4. Immediately tried a restore, now volumes
are clamed to be write protected then marked unavailable.

Hello ,
Yes you are correct. The LM must always be at the highest version. Now you
have two options , either Upgrade the LM to same level as client or
downgrade the Client to same level as LM.

Well, that is the IBM mantra/published guidelines for supported
configurations but I have a 5.5.6 TSM server (library client) accessing
2-6.2.5 TSM LM servers as well as TSM servers/LC at 6.3.3 accessing the
same 6.2.5 LM servers, with no issues, all accessing the same 3494 ATL

I passed this info on to the Windows admin and they came back to me saying
they tried removing the dscenu.txt file from the directory containing the
opt/error/sched files and the backup failed.
I asked them to show me and yes, it fails. It fails when they run the
CLI/dsmc.
I did some digging
Hi Tony,
What version of Data Protection for SQL is this?
There have been some issues fixed in this exact area,
so if you are not at the latest level, you might try upgrading.
If you are reluctant to do so, without getting confirmation,
you can open a PMR so that a trace can be gathered
