Nevermind. I just found out she WAS running *IBM Tivoli Storage Manager
Client.msi* directly, not using spinstall.exe. She is going to upgrade
another client this week, using the proper method, to prove it WAD. Sorry
to have bothered you.

Forgot to list that these are all manual installations. We have never done
silent/automated installs. Just extracting the package and running
spinstall.exe after stopping the services.
Due to the minor "vulnerability" in clients older than 7.1.6.3, we are
