Thanks for the details. Since I don't do NDMP, AFAIK it doesn't apply to
me.

The web client is the mini-webserver that runs a java b/a client and
installed optionally as a part of the client software.
As far as I know, this is the only way to get a GUI to perform NDMP
restores and is the only way to access the NDMP DAR functionality.
"restore node" commands on the server
Thanks for clarifying that. I didn't know the "web client" on the server
was still available? I haven't used that since we got TSMManager to manage
the TSM/SP servers.
With all the require security enhancements, looks like we won't be going to
8.1.2 for a while. Still need to get to 8.1.1.

Say what? If there is no longer a web-client interface, that will totally
destroy our current process of having 1-server with 40-TSM clients/nodes
and all access for restores is via the web-interface. Can you point me to
the document you are referring to?

Geez, just read the client section. The web client is deprecated, which means
ndmp is a command-line-only thing now?

I am curious how you got 8.1.2? I just searched and it isn't on the FTP
site or Passport? Are you a beta tester?

Dear Experts,
I am looking for your advice on below topic.
We have NDMP backups are configured with SP Server (7.1.6). The Netapp ( v8.5 ,
7 mode) setup would be like, the remote site production filer has been syncing
the data to DR site Filer (snapmirror).
The TSM NDMP backup is configured
Hi All,
congrats to IBM for the release of TSM 8.1.2, looks like almost a major upgrade!
I'm happy to learn that 8.1.2 will support NAS backup to Directory Containers.
I do have a question regarding the new way of handeling SSL / TLS 1.2: does it
really mean that once a B/A client is at the
