I am very bad at SQL statements, but I do it this way:
select sum(total_mb) from auditocc where node_name='node1' or node_name='
node2' or node_name...
Just select which nodes you want to add to the total.

This is usually caused by Windows RSM taking control of the librairy...
Make sure to disable RSM if your not using it.

This seems to be your last DB backup as far as TSM is concerned so it
won't allow you to delete it. How are you taking your DB backups to disk?
It doesn't seems to be recognized as a DB backup by TSM...

Since you still can't reclaim offsite tapes to a reclaimpool, this could
be done on a small install so that you don't need a two drive library to
use TSM to backup your data?
What do you guys think?

Hi,
Have any of you any knowledge of this DB: Vista version 3.64? And if so
is there a product to let you back it up live by through TSM?
Can't seem to find much info on this software...

Personnaly I used the Tech Guide, and implementation Redbooks, checking
the Admin Reference to check the commands options.

So far as I know there are no IBM/Tivoli Certification guides for TSM

If I remember corectly journaling is not supported on W2K Cluster
server... or was not until recently (I found this on the list when I was
looking for the same info):
You should be aware that the TSM Journaling Engine service is not
supported in MS Cluster server. Only one TSm Journaling Engine
also don't see the NDS objects through the
web client, altough if I do a QUERY BACKUP NDS: I get the list of objects
inlcuding the test one.
What am I doing wrong?

I was told by a vendor that TSM does not lock files while backuping, not
even for a nanosecond. Is this true? And if so would that also be the
case for the TDPs (or whatever they call them now)?

I hope you will excuse me to be so direct but I think that you last answer
is stupid, did you ever look at the price of a single drive library
compared to a three drive library ? And I don't talk
onsite volumes for some reason (I don't see why not since the
DB can track which file is on which onsite tape mount it and copy it to my
reclaimpool on disk. Once that is done it can mount a scratch or copypool
volume and the offsite volumes would be reclaimed no?
Help please!
Thanks

Hi Del,
I have checked the versions and I only see 7 versions with the 8th
version currently marked *EXPIRE IMMEDIATLY*. My Expiration runs tonight
so that's normal.
Oops!
I just ran QUERY OCCUPANCY and I can see that my domino server uses 122 GB
onsite and another 122GB offsite.
I have the same problem. Asked Tivoli and was bluntly told that TSM 4.2
is only supported on (I guess you are using Red Hat?) Red Hat 7.0 or
higher. For RH 6.2 you need to run the TSM 4.1 client.
The Sched jobs keeps dying (and I have three of them). So until I can
upgrade to RH7.x I am
The simplest way is to do full backups everyday and set your expiration to
7 days (Hopefully this will fit on 5 tapes). Remember you should also
backup the DB from time to time!

of doing this?
And how do you identify backupset volumes?
Thanks again,

You cannot mark primary stgpool volume as offsite. As per the
help/Reference Guide:
3. This value is valid only for volumes in copy storage pools.
You cannot overcome the TSM design. Still can use MOVe MEDia
Thanks!
That was pretty obvious when you think about it, but for some reason I

You don't need to specify an element number with a LTO 3581 since it only
has one drive. Do the command again without the element number and it
should work as long as you use the IBM driver in Windows2000.
