Retiring LTO tapes

Hi, I've a simple question for the group, we are using a mixture of IBM and FujiFilm LTO1 tapes in a IBM3584 library. Does anyone have a policy (or your thoughts) on retiring tapes, i.e. after X number of read/writes or X years service? Looking forward to your responses regards Stephen

Hi, As well as having the latest firmware, IBM have recently issued a small plastic clip for LTO1 drives. We were having problems with tapes ejecting (both IBM and non-IBM) and this helped resolve it along with the firmware upgrade. cheers Stephen Dublin, Ireland

Newbie question about Space Reclamation

Hi, I'm only new to TSM and on a bit of a steep learning curve. We have a scheduled job each Friday to reclaim our copy pool tapes (update stg backup_copy_pool reclaim=75), the process starts and the output volume is mounted OK however the server wait for the input (60K+ seconds). I've pasted
