When looking into exclusion problems, use 'dsmc q inclexcl'.
Don't rely upon visual inspection of files, as the information there is often
only part of the story.
Also check your backup log file to see what volumes it reports as
participating when it starts, and compare that against the query

Steve,
Can you be more specific on what you mean?
Something like:
EXCLUDE \...\db1\...\*
Should exclude the db1 database for whatever instance you are backing

If you want to specify a certain instance in an exclude statement, you
can do that too. I

Hi,
I would like to make incremental backups of a directory called /backup of
a Linux box and ignore all the other directories.
To select the specific directory I created an include-exclude options file
and inserted an inclexcl option in dsm.sys.
The query inclexcl shows:
No exclude filespace

I am glad that I asked the question, although it is very stupid one. I did
read the user manual again.
It seems that the DOMAIN is for defining 1) drives, (I just assumed the
entries shown in my domain list window which mostly are directories could
be used as domain objects.)

once you have created this list, you must exclude whatever you need to

Note that the client type is Windows NT, which TSM regards as a single-user
