Looks like something cleared up whatever was preventing me from deleting
the Container Directory so at least the directory is gone. But I still
can't delete the container stgpool.

Yes I did. Following the instructions, I did the MARKDAMAGED and
REMOVEDAMAGED. I just ran it again:

We realize that Directory Containers on V7 are mostly a "black hole" and we
don't plan to start
