Hi all, I've got about 20 primary sites that I wish to e-vault to other, smaller secondary sites in their local area. I've looked at installing a local TSM server in each of the secondary sites, but their are a number of roadblocks, one of these is the fact that corporate standards here require remote management cards, dual power supplies and so on all of which push the price up to unacceptable levels. The other is that there are physical accomodation issues in many of these secondary sites.
So, I'm looking at running a naked tape library at the second site controlled from the primary TSM Server using iSCSI across the wan. Lets assume that these sites have a 2Mb pipe. Is anybody using iSCSI across a wan like this? Does it work? Issues? Am I dreaming?
