We have Oracle 8.1.7 64bit and 8.0.6 32 bit with RMAN, running on AIX 4.3.3 servers.
Have the TSM 4.1 agents and TDP for Oracle 2.1.0.10 and TSM server 3.7.4.0. The
Oracle servers are new. The backups through RMAN are working o.k. and we have tested
restores o.k.

Yep! I have seen this too. I used the defaults when
registering the clients
and thus the clients had no authorization to delete backup
data! Use the
BACKDELETE=YES when registering a Ora

backups from the TSM server?
The DBA's go through the process using RMAN, and it reports it has deleted
the backups succesfully, but they are not actually being removed from the
TSM server.

didi you check the state of the files on the server. I had the same thought that
there was a little bug but verifying again showed me that the files where
inactivated and that the RETO and VERD had to be set to 0.
