A correction to that sample server script I posted last evening...
Upon getting up this morning, it popped into my head that redirection
is not allowed
in server scripts (results in error ANR2020E). So, please remove the
redirection.
sorry about that, Richard Sims

Thanks Richard,

new command for TSM 5.3. You can use this command to estimate

performing a reorganization.

It has been possible to reorganize the TSM db for some time, as

The ESTimate DBREorgstats is new in TSM 5.3, as described in the TSM
5.3 Technical Guide redbook (*must* reading) and the Admin Guide and
Admin Ref manuals.
For server scripting, the best approach
Hi all,
Does anyone have a script I could run on my TSM server (AIX) that will
supply me with a list of files backed up per domain, node name and
management class?
I got close with this one, but can't get the list of files.
select node_name,backup_date from backups where domain_name='PRODSQL'
Ricky,
The current tsm sql engine doesn't have enough columns to give you the
answer you are looking for. I suggest this alternate procedure;
1. Do a 'q occ nodename', add up the files and space used values for the primary pools.
2. Do an export command with preview=yes - 'exp nodename
Does anyone have a script that would tell me how many extra versions (we
currently have up to 14) exists on a node and how much space they are taking
up??
The library is beggining to creak at the seems a little (STKL180) buying a
new one isn't an option so I'm trying to find ways to cut back
