Zoltan, there is no show logpinned command in V6.2.2, but it is still
possible to figure out which session and transaction is causing the log to
be pinned. Here is an example of what you would need to do:
This isn't quite as straight-forward as the old show command, but this will
work. Call or re

Yes, I realize 6.x is DB2 but I was wondering is there is an equivalent to
show logpinned. I seem to be in some kind of situation where the logs are
not being released and growing daily, eventhough I have performed numerous
full DB backups and backup volhist.
I am going to have to bounce it soon
For the past 2 days something has been screwing up backups by filling
the log and this morning I remembered the show logpinned command and
found the server that is causing it. I've cancelled the session but as
far as I know am at the mercy of TSM to kill it at some point. I

Take a look also at the 'show logpinned cancel' command if that's not
what
you used to cancel the session - sometimes it's helpful. If that
doesn't
work then halting the server will do the trick, but that's not the
most
tidy or convenient way... assuming you're about to run out of log
From what I understand, when you cancel the session, TSM rolls back
the
transaction. Sometimes it's quick, sometimes it can take quite a
while.
but the log won't grow any more from the session while it is rolling
back.
It may well be that the log isn't 'supposed to grow but that isn't what

:)
it is 'show logpin', and my 4.2.2.10 server understands this perfectly.

What is the show command to see who has the log pinned? Is it in AIX server
5.1.1.6 level?
SHOW LOGPIN is not in v5.1.1.6. It was added back in on the newest
maintenance/patch - v5.1.5.1.
The command is:
show log pin
...and it works on 5.1.1.6 on AIX
