It is always highly recommended to use separate nodes for B/A client
(files) and TDP (application). TSM licenses are processor-based (v5.1) or
system-size (v4.2 and below) and do not depend on number of nodes over the

I suspect you are using Windows2000?? I've had the same problem.
Solution:
Remove backupreg from dsm.opt
Deleted adsm.sys
Since the registry is included in the system objects backup adsm.sys is
not needed
Dont forget to have domain all-local or domain systemobjects in your
optfile.

I have not tried the AIX 5.1.5.15. 5.1.5.11 was the highest patch
level when I started my problem analysis.
I do have 5.1.5.15 running on a handful of Window 2000/XP clients for

When TSM reclaims offsite tapes, it uses the onsite copy of the data, not
the offsite tape (if the copypool tape is offsite), so your hardware is
adequate to do this, since you can already do the backup stgpool function.

operations on a given system connect to our production server and

Option Sets pointing DIRMC to that management class, and assigned those
option sets to nodes. So now, all new/changed directories should be being
