Hi list,
I've just upgraded my server from 5.1.6.2 to 5.2.2.1, and noticed a

nodes associated to scheduled backups are returning an error message

Bernd,
Thanks for the info, you saved me from a massive TSM client upgrade
campaign !
I tried my chance on this list, but disregarded IBM's web pages, as they
usually are less informative as our live beta-testers comments ...
Cheers.

Notwithstanding the known issues in navigating the IBM web site, I
recommend the IBM web site as a good source of information. If you had
gone to http://www.ibm.com and done a search on:
+tsm +anr0480w
You would have found several items, including the IC37862 APAR.

Those errors also occur in TSM server version 5.2.1.3. Luckily
the scheduled clients immediately connect back up and complete their
backups. It's annoying, but not really broken.

Does anyone have a select query that would be useful to run it once a day

Hi to all
I need to run 2 dsmcad on a same station (Unix with client 5.2.2) the only
way I figured to resolve that is on my dsm.sys on the first stanza
servername to leave the default httpport 1581 and on the second stanza
servername to add httpport 1582.
I created two opt files (dsm.opt and
Environment:
TSM 5.2.1.2 on AIX 5.1
TSM client 5.2.0.3 on Win2k SP4 with TDP Exchange client 5.2.1.0.
I was looking at the exchange log found this:
03/15/2004 06:34:20 == Log file pruned using log retention
period of 60 day(s)
03/15/2004 06:34:20 == No log entries pruned
Hi Justin,
Try those ones :
select date(days(current_date)-1) as DATA date, entity as
nodename,((sum(bytes)/1024)/1024) as MB_backed_up from summary where
activity='BACKUP' and days(current_date)-days(start_time)=1 group by
entity order by MB_backed_up desc
select (sum(bytes)/1024)/1024 as Total
Have you tried a full ? I am guessing it will have the same result.
We recently had a similar issue during a full server recovery and our
Exchange group had to take it up with MS support. The DB was saying a
transaction log still existed and the trans log file had already been
deleted.

Just ran a full an incremental after it they both ran OK..
Go figure.
Forgot to add that it is Exchange 5.5

Hi to all
I need to run 2 dsmcad on a same station
I am trying to set up a DB2 backup using TSM. My test instance is db2inst1.
AIX 5.2
DB@ 8.1
TSM Client 5.2.2
TSM api 5.2.2
All are the 64 bit versions.
The following variables were set in the .profile of user db2inst1:
export DSMI_DIR=/usr/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin64
export
We have a postschedcmd that checks the TSM backup and also checks whether
the dsmc sched is running. It frequently finds it NOT running. It runs at
now + 5 minutes.
1. Should it run later?
2. Why does the dsmc sched ever go down?
3. What causes the Process Interrupted!! Severing connection.
Get the redbook on Backing up DB2 using TSM. I believe in there they
suggest that any changes be made to the file userprofile instead of the
.profile for the instance. You also need to stop and start the instance for
the changes to take effect.

Hello,
I cant think up or find any 'No´s..' in the archive, but are there any
problems/issues having a DC (w2k3) and TSM server on the same machine?
