Hi,
We also have a number of Windows 2000 clients
(5.3.2.0) that seem to hang the entire system
during a backup. The client has to be rebooted
to get it working again.
I searched the web and found APAR IC47248
which suggested there is a problem with
the TSM Logical Volume Snapshot Agent.

Somebody knows how to solve this problem?

Allen,
Thanks for your reply. Rephrasing my question, I suppose what I
really want to know is, does a session to a tape drive require more

they are the same, then we have no problem.

Dennis,
What is your volume reuse delay for the copy storage pool?
I can understand the number to rise from 14 to 28 if you have reuse delay of 14.
In that case, the older tapes that you see are actually in the state of Pending.

In DRM, you need to set a value for 'DB Backup Series Expiration Days',
I think with the 'set drmdbbackupexpiredays xx', xx being the number of
days you wish to retain db backups offsite before returning. Hope this
helps! Once you run this command, you will get those tapes back.
