Hi to all
I had one Novell client version 6.5 with Tsm client 5.3.0 with always a status
backup of FAILED with RC 12 with kind of errors messages as (dsmerror.log):
The file is skipped
access to the object is denied
12/05/2005 01:28:51 ANS1512E Scheduled event 'SCHED2N' failed. Return
Hi all,
one of our customers is planning on implementing Solaris 10 with zoning
in the near future. Has anybody heard if and when the TSM client will
support Solaris 10 with zones (without zones is supported with 5.3.0.12
or 5.3.2).

Hello everyone!
I was just wondering how I can tell what resources were being maxed out at
the time of the lock conflict? These are the only messages that I have
found in the activity log. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,
I just read the other message about the server crasch. So I thought I
could post my pk_exception here too.
It seems to me that 5.3 is stable and reliable.
I get the errors (re-creatable!!!) during high workload. Probably a
memory problem and I have forwarded it to level 2.
The fun part
Have tsm server 5.2.4.0 on solaris 8.
Client 5.2.0 on a windows 2000 machine.
All of a sudden, the backup starts, then times out after around 4 hours when
the 75 minute idle timeout has been reached.
This began November 15, but the user claims that nothing has changed on the
2000 machine.

Hi Gary,
I've looked in the client manual for
how to set up a trace to try and find the problem, but no mention of trace
flags. Where is this information?
Try in the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager

See the Automating Tasks chapter in the client manual for information on
client return codes. The return code is not variable based on *number* of
skipped files (it is always 4, unless there is some other warning or error
that would cause the return code to be higher).

Hello,
I know there are threads on the following issue regarding this
novell problem. It has started happening again on and off backups
are failing with the error below. I had the Novell admins email
me the TSA500, TSANDS and SMDR versions below. I think they
may be the issue. Does anyone know
Due to the presenter for the planned TSM on z/Linux call that was scheduled

We are planning to move a large number of our nodes to disk only
backups and eliminate tape for them. The diskpools will be devtype=file.
I struggle with whether to collocate these disk volumes or not and how
large to make them. I've had some discussions with IBM, but would like
to ask others to
Is there a way to copy the TSM 5.3 publication CD to an internal web
server have it accessible by internal clients? I don't want to copy the
CD and pass it around. This would be an internal IIS server.
