Del already mentioned this, basically, you can't backup 32 bit sql running on win 64 bit. You'll have to upgrade your sql server to 64 bit, or downgrade your windows to 32 bit. On 11 sep 2008, at 00:37, Patel, Ankur wrote: Boris, I have recently setup TDP Backups for SQL 64 bit. Not sure

You'll have to define them manually, or make some intresting sql selects that generate define commands for your storagepools. Also, if you have them, you'll have to do the same for cloptsets (I think). You can forget about volhistory, there is just no way. On 11 sep 2008, at 00:46, Richard

I just did an export node on TSM 5.5.1, and the cloptset came over with the client. You can see it get defined on the target server. Don't know when that feature was added, but it's cool! On Thu, Sep 11, 2008 at 2:06 AM, Remco Post [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: You'll have to define them manually,

You've got to do the local storage yourself, and have that ready to receive the filedata. The only things that can be brought over by the exports are things that are platform-independent. Having the system guess what libraries, volumes, paths, drives, filesystems, disks, whatever it's supposed

TSM license question

2008-09-11 Thread Alexander Lazarevich
I have a questions about TSM licensing: We run TSM 5.3.4 on Windows 2000 Server, with an LTO2 and LTO3 library, attached via SCSI. It works fine. We are upgrading the entire system: new PC running Windows 2003 Server, TSM 5.5.1 and a new LTO4 library. Can I setup and install the new LTO4

SV: TSM license question

2008-09-11 Thread Christian Svensson
Hi Alex, This is a normal situation when other TSM Customers upgrade to a new hardware. Don't know what IBM say about it but multiple customers do the samething you do over and over again without buying extra temp lic. I recommend that you talk to your IBM TSM SE Rep and he can help you out.

Re: TSM license question

2008-09-11 Thread Wanda Prather
There is no license charge for a TSM server, you can stand up as many servers as you want. What is licensed is the number of processors in servers or workstations you are backing up. However, you must include the processors in the TSM server(s) in the count. So as long as you are licensed for

With the older drivers, you must be absolutely specific on the kernel level, down to the sub-sub-sub level. For that kernel level, look in the lin_taped archives at: for x64 (you did not specify)

Wanda, My point exactly. When I set RESOURCEUTILIZATION 10, I got between 4 and 8 tape mounts, but I only expected to get 4. I could never tell why. So I lowered it to RESOURCEUTILIZATION 4, and now only get 2 tape mounts. But according to the table below, I should only get 1. So

Hi, As for me, producer sessions are the ones collecting the data and sessions are the ones moving data. So with this table and a resource of 4 I expect to see a maximum number of 3 sessions tranfering data to my TSM server and one which gets the file list and inspecting the client.

Active Storage Pools

I have a couple of questions about this feature as I'd like to take advantage of it. 1. Is anyone on the list here actually using it? 2. Is there a way just to copy a node's data (not all the nodes in a domain or storage pool) to the active pool? See Ya' Howard Coles Jr. Sr. Systems Engineer

Richard, Thanks. It turns out that while the frantic e-mail about no documentation on the IBM site was being produced, followed by an even more frantic phone call, the appropriate Technote was in front of her. It would be nice if such things were incorporated into the regular documentation.
