Hello all
Can't seem to find any reference to it. Is there an option for automatic
pruning of the dsmwebcl.log dcmcad file, just like the schedule and error
logs?
Thanks

Hi Geoff,
Install TIVsm-tsmscsi-5.5.x-x.rpm package then can you find all your
Tapes/Libraies under /dev/tsmscsi/ as
lbX and mtX
If you don't wanna point to a link in Linux and point direct to the device node
then can you run
lsscsi
To find out what /dev/stX path is for your TAPE/VTL drives
Steven -
There is no documented option for pruning the CAD log. (CAD is
minimalist.) Whereas dsmcad does not keep the log open, you can
perform an 'mv' to a backup file name (e.g., dsmwebcl.log.20090722) in
a slack time, and it will start a new log file afresh when it next
needs to log
Hi,
How to get rid of this ANR0826I? I even restarted the TSM server. Still the
same error while there is nothing in q proc.
Thanks,

Hello,
The question may be simple but i dont know how to do this?I have a request
to restore a directory and before that user wants to know that how much data
will be restored. How can i calculate how much data will be restored if i

Have you pursued the possible reasons explained by Hep ANR0826I ? ...

Thanks Richard, I canceled the restartable restore and it is OK now. The
question is that why client showed no restartable restore while TSM server
showed and could cancel it?
Thanks so much,
Mehdi
The Estimate value is dodgy, and recent clients have been eliminating
it.
What you can do instead is a 'dsmc Query Backup' using the same
selection criteria as the planned restoral, where you can inspect the
contents or feed it to a quick Perl summation.

Barring a software defect, the only reason I could think of is if
Yudi,
Did you see any outstanding error messages from Exchange in the event
viewer? Did you get additional information from the logs in the TDPExch
directory? tdpexcc q exchange showed that circular logging was
disabled; so TDP shouldn't be assuming otherwise. You may want to work
on this issue
delete volume 000139 discarddata=yes did solve that issue. The tape is back
on track. Found 3 more tapes that had this behavior, but did the same on them.
Happy again!!

I am setting up a small environment for one of our affiliates - P520 SAS
attached to a TS3200 with LTO4.
Does anyone know if a TS3200 with SAS LTO-4 drives can provide library
managed encryption using IBM's EKM?
I ran across an IBM web page that said Library managed encryption is
supported on FC
Thanks for the replies.

Henrik, when we first installed lto-4 tape
Since you are using IBM LTO drives, you would be using the ibm lin_tape
drivers instead of the TSM drivers.
Check out the manual here:

IBM_Tape_Driver_IUG.pdf
Under the linux section, it has the device names you should use. Plenty
of other information as
You would need to send the output to a quick Perl summation as Richard
mentioned. You won't be able to do it with TSM-only tools

Greetings ADSMlings,
Thanks for your help!
I will be implementing TSM Fastback servers at 2 remote sites. These 2
servers will be protected by a TSM Fastback DR Hub Server back at the HQ.
My issue is that the remote sites have T1 WAN capabilities while the sites
have ~70GB and ~250GB of data
