Bill, The nohup is probably unnecessary if you are using a modern shell. I am
also not familiar with HP syntax but I don't use
dash in front of the sched argument after the dsmc binary the entry from my
/etc/inittab file is as follows:

For a short answer I would take the path of least resistance. If you are only
backing up a few files/directories it would be simplest (easiest to figure out
the incl/excl statements and their effects)
are Magstar MP C-FOrmat XL 7gb tapes. I would recommend summing the
"full" volumes and dividing by the
number summed to get an average full volume value which will reflect the various
data types being compressed. I am
using compression at the drive and not the client.

During the initial install on my Win2K server (4.1.4.5), a Server1 dir
was created. Most of the server config files are now located there. In the
original Server directory is a file which contains the sample scripts
called scripts.smp.

You would do well to do a whole_system backup / restore rather than the L

Jeff, If he is able to restore 32 dbspaces and it fails on the 33rd, he is
probably authenticating OK... Any errors reflecting a
problem like this are likely to be in his onbar activity log and the
Informix online log for the instance btw...

in the client option file to allow the
default value of four checks of an in use file and then the file will be backed up
regardless of state.
current listing of the lost+found directory:

I am also in an Informix environment but my largest instance is just over
60 gigabytes... I am not certain what a fragmented database is. Could you
explain?
