Hello Zoltan, When you have that many tapes to input into the library, you can simply open the door and manually insert the tapes. You would need to run the tape library audit to index the tape locations. You can then proceed to the checkin process from the TSM servers.

Hi George, I've had mixed drives in a library from before. What I've had to do set the devc format to the lesser drive format. I know this does not utilize the features of the new drives. But administratively when you no choice, it is much easier than splitting the library.

This could be normal if TSM is trying to recreate all the directory structures. It creates this first, before restoring actual data. With the newer versions of TSM, using a directory class management (DIRMC) shouldn’t be necessary, since ACL information is applied at a later point in time.
