Do you have them setup in an Enterprise Management config? How do these two
instances talk to each other? I'm assuming they are setup, other than being on
the same box, to communicate with each other.

Hopefully you're running offsite copies using DRM, so at the worst, you
will have to restore the volumes from the offsite copies.

Steve is correct. (this is valid for TSM 5.x anyway) For Oracle RMAN
Backups using the Data Protection Agent TSM is basically just a data

doesn't and can't scan the drive as it would a file system, it can't

Have the Cluster service set to replicate the following Registry Key:
SOFTWARE\IBM\ADSM\CurrentVersion\Nodes\TSMNODENAME\TSMSERVERNAME
That should take care of your problem. Works for us anyway.

So, did I take it right that table of contents in backup sets are now
supported? That was a long list of fixes.

Either edit the dsm.opt file (or separate include/exclude list).
Or, edit the Client Options file associated with this client. Those are
the only two ways.

Yes, and remember to put the smaller drives at the head of the line in

Make sure of two things:
1. You setup your new server with the same hostname and IP address as

2. You import the LUNs in the right order on the new box. That is, if
