Hello All,
Does any one have a doc or know where I can get one
regarding Drive Transfer rates. I currently have 3590B drives
and thinking of upgrading to the E's and replacing the SCSI connection with Fibre.
Thanks in advance!

Although both servers are idential and it seems that you are not running
HACMP, TSM has a script for that if you were. Then, just creat different node
names in clients option file , this will not effect the OS Hostname and will
allow you to distinguish between your Identical TSM clients.
Hope that
Hello Fellow TSMer's,
I have been trying to postpone upgrading my TSM Server for as long as
possible. I'm a firm believer in if it ain't broke, don't fix it!, but i'm
starting to get funny errors. Anyways, I'm at 4.1.2, and I have been reading
many issues with each 5.X release. I would like to
thank you all for taking time to answer my question. I was leaning towards
4.2.x as well, there seems to be too many issues with 5.x.

Season's Greetings Tsm'ers,
1) Can someone tell me how to check the amount of data being backed up per
client, and how to obtain the same info for previous days.
2) How much data was in my Disk pool before I migrated it all!
Thanks

Great info,
I don't have any Perm hardware errors, but a lot of drive cleanup requests in
the error report. Unfortunately, the infamous reboot resolved the issue
again.
Thanks!

I registed a new client and I am unable q the server successfully. These are
the messages in my error log:
2/14/02 18:24:28 ANS1029E Communications have been dropped.
12/14/02 18:24:29 sessOpen: Error 137 from signon authentication.
12/14/02 18:24:29 sessOpen: Error 137 from signon
I killed the session that was running for a while, but still not go. I
bounced the server, and ofcourse, that did it. I'm not sure why this happened
though.
Thanks for your assistance.

Hello TSM'ers,
Did anyone come across this issue, we have a scheduled back that starts
at 6am, and usually ends by 9. I just logged on to check on other processes
and noticed that the schedule is still running but the byte count is not
changing:
Primary Pool UNIX_TAPEPOOL, Copy Pool DRM_TAPE_-
Hello All,
Does anyone know the website to log TSM issues
with TSM instead of using the phone?

Hello All,
I am finally archiving files to a diskpool, then migration into tape. I'm
doing this process manually, does anyone know the command I would put the
schedule configuration to run an archive automatically?
Thanks!

Good Morning TSM'ers,
Can someone tell me where the activity log maps to on the AIX side.
I would like to expand the duration of the log, but I need to know how much
is being utilized currently before I do that.
Thanks in advance

Thank you all for the quick response!
thanks!
Hello All,
I am having an Issue with my Linux backup.
Soon as I start the backup, it instantly completes.
When I try to see the filesets backed up there are
none. It appears as if the server does not recognise
the linux filesystems.
In the dsmsched.log there's a message indicating that

Good Morning All,
Can someone provide some clarification on the process of
archiving, it would be greatly appreciated. Here's the scenario:
I am new to TSM, and our site has never archived before.
There's now a need to archive just one clients data for seven years.
I created a archive copy group

Hello All,
Does anyone have a command to list the contents of a
phyical volume, inreference to size and not data. I know
I can use 'q content volumename' , but that only gives me
filenames. I would like to know how much data is on a volume,
average amount of data written to a volume, and the
